Australia's MC Payment delivers payments via chat apps to Indonesia

Electronic payments processor Mobile Credit Payment has launched an app that allows small businesses to invoice customers through social media channels and accept various payment methods.

Merchants throughout Indonesia offering Instapay will use messaging apps such as Whatsapp and Line to facilitate payments. More than 1,000 merchants have signed up to use the payment service during what Sydney, Australia-based MC Payment is calling its soft launch.

The number of Indonesian merchants signing up serves as “a testimony to the platform’s accessibility and stability,” MC Payment CEO Anthony Koh said in a Thursday press release.

MC Payment will roll out supporting services such as mobile micro financing and installment payments for small businesses in the coming months.
