JCB signs deals to expand European reach

Japanese credit card brand JCB has signed several deals to expand its global acceptance online and at the point of sale.

A new alliance with Britain-based fuel merchant BP will enable JCB card acceptance at BP gas stations in the Netherlands and Luxembourg beginning this year, with plans to expand to Austria, Switzerland and the U.K. next year, the credit card brand said in a recent press release.

In another new deal with processor Global Payments, JCB is rolling out card acceptance in Malta that will include contactless support in the region beginning next year, JBC said in the release.

Turkish Airlines also has added JCB as a payment option for travelers applying for e-visa applications to Turkey, according to
