Norway’s Vipps P2P app adds bill payment

Vipps, which launched in Norway in 2015 as a P2P app accessible to all local bank customers, is integrating invoice and bill-payment capabilities through a collaboration with Nets Group, a Nordic payment service provider.

Nets will incorporate its eFaktura digital invoice and billing solution within Vipps, so consumers may pay bills within the Vipps app or through their bank’s online or mobile channels through the combined Vipps eFaktura service, according to a Monday press release.

Because Nets’ eFaktura service distributes 100 million invoices annually to 2.6 million Norwegians, and Vipps has 3.2 million users, the move will simplify consumers’ bill-payment processes by centralizing channels and providing an overview of their finances, according to the release.
